Bathtime Buddies...And More Pictures

One Sunday night, Garrett had a friend join him for his bath...his cousin, Cooper! They splashed and splashed and drenched Granny's counter tops and floor! They loved it!

Being the fearless adventurer that he is, Garrett got this idea to stand up in the sink and climb his way across the counter--soaking wet! Cooper just stared in wonderment...

Believe it or not-Garrett is only a week older than Cooper!
She's a dainty little thing compared to him!

I just wanted to share some pictures of Garrett:

What a cheese ball!

He will climb up in his swing and pretend he's riding his "buckin' bronco"! :) I didn't know he had such an imagination at 10 months! What a silly little boy! :)

A few nights ago, Garrett was just not having it-he's getting two more teeth on top and I think his little tummy was upset so John gave him his Mylicon bottle to chew on.

He just looks so sad in this picture....his pouty bottom lip...

I just can't get enough kisses on his cheeks! How we love our sweet boy!

Garrett At 10 Months

Garrett is 10 months today! Here are some things that he has been doing over the last month:
  • His crawling is out of control! He's everywhere!! Which means he's into everything!! I feel like he hears the words "no, no" a lot!
  • He has figured out how to pull himself up! He will crawl over to the tv, pull himself up and just stare...probably not the best thing for his eyes, but he'll drop down on his bum a few seconds later. We've definately had our first of many, many bumps and bruises
  • I'm teaching him to walk...however, I think he'll learn how to run first!
  • Has 2 teeth on bottom
  • Smiles all the time! I love it! :)
  • A MAJOR MOMMA'S BOY!!! Funny Story: He will be totally zoned in on a toy or something out in the living room, notice that I am missing (most of the time I'm in the bathroom getting ready), drop the toy, crawl across the living room, down the hallway, and into the bathroom and find me!! I just can't seem to get a minute to myself! Oh, how I love it though because I know that it won't last for very long.....
  • Weighs 22+ lbs. His next checkup isn't til after he's one so with the weight I'm just guessing
  • Can hand-feed himself snacks (motor skills are working!)
  • Sleeps in the most random positions! I'll put him asleep on his tummy and go to check on him and he's flipped completely around, facing the other end of his crib. Sometimes, he will bury his face in the corner of his crib or his blanket-I'm surprised he hasn't suffocated himself yet! :) Or, he'll tuck his legs underneath him so his bum is pointed up in the air!
  • He is doing better at sleeping through the night, although there are some nights where he will wake up 2-3 times
  • Recognizes pictures of himself and knows when the camera is pointed at him! We've all seen the cheesy grin...no need to say more! :)
It seems like he's doing/learning something new everyday! He's just changing so much! We love him so much and are so thankful that he is in our lives!

In Need Of A Project? Or Was He Just Bored?

Let me back way, way up to when we first moved into our house....The main bathroom had not one, not two, but THREE ways you could get into it! There was, of course, the main entrance from the hallway (the normal entry), a door that connected our bedroom and the bathroom together, and then once inside the bathroom, there was a 3rd door called a "privacy room" (or so I'm told) that just had the toilet and the shower! I felt like I had to go through all 3 doors just to sit on the toilet! It drove me crazy!! So, a couple of months ago I asked John if he would take down the "privacy door" and the door that connects the bathroom and our bedroom...which left a gaping hole in the wall. Not much for privacy, but I could deal with it for awhile.

Well, last Saturday, John was bored out of his mind and was being all ancy-nancy just sitting here, so he and my dad ripped out the door frames and put up a wall...No more hole! :) Then, being the great thinker that I am, (jk) I asked John if he would knock out the wall/doorway "privacy room" so the bathroom would look bigger! And, he did!! Little did I know that John would have to remove all of the wiring and re-wire to the main switch so the fan would still work..ha, ha, oops! Sorry! I think I actually made more work for John than he wanted. :)
Now, the bathroom just has ONE entry way! No more confusion and no more playing "Which of these 3 doors will lead to the bathroom?"

Starting the process...

Hole is gone, hole is gone, hole is gone! :)

Hard at work....

It's still in shambles right now, but I'm so excited to see how it will look when it's all done! :) Thanks John and dad!

New Year's And Sledding!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
To celebrate, we went to John's cousins house for some games and lots of good food! I did take my camera but, being the excellent photographer that I am, it stayed in the diaper bag the whole time! We had a lot of fun, though and crawled into bed around 2:30am!

The next day, John wanted to go sledding. In -2 degree weather! I thought he was nuts and was contemplating about what to do with Garrett but, it ended up being really fun! After much debating with myself, Garrett came along with us, too! We went up to Taylor Mountain with John's family and some of our friends. It was cold, but it was fun!

Yes, I know Garrett has socks on for mittens! I had to improvise!

Me and Garrett going down for our first ride....

Made it to the bottom without crashing! Whew!

After sledding, we all went to Searle's for some more games, and pizza, and treats! I love spending time with family...even if it was -2 outside!! :)
Hope everyone had a Happy New Year!! I still can't believe it's already 2011! I wonder what this year will have in store for us.....
