Blah!

One day I was just goofing around with my blog: ie changing the background, trying to figure out how to change the font color and all that jazz, and out of nowhere this pops up : "Internet Explorer cannot open johnandtaun.blogspot.com. Operation Aborted." My only option was to exit out of the internet completely! So, for the past couple of days I haven't been able to access my blog, post anything new, or even check out and comment on anybody elses! I was getting a little upset thinking that all of my previous post might have been deleted or something so John to the rescue again! After a couple of hours, we (I mean John) figures it out. Now, instead of going into Internet Explorer to blog I have to use Mozilla FireFox! SO GAY!!!! Oh, well! I'm just glad my past posts were still saved and that I can continue to use it! It's like my personal journal....Sorry, I just had to share!

P.S. GARRETT IS ROLLING OVER!!! Video update coming soon!!! :)

A Funny About John....

Earlier today I asked John if he would go with me to WinCo and get groceries since it takes me forever, especially with Garrett, and I hate going by myself! He agreed to go with me and so when he got home I also asked him to write down at least 10 dinner ideas since he is the most pickiest eater I have ever known!! So being the goof-ball that he is, he made up a poem that made me laugh I just had to share it.
At Least 10 Dinners! By John Spaulding:
"Once upon a time John came home from a long day at work and had to sit down and make a list of what dinners he would like to have for dinner when he comes home. This is what he wrote on that day. By his side while he was relaying the thoughts that were flowing from his mind, was his faithful with who is always helping him release his thoughts. Since I am and have been and always will be a most pecularly nit-picky eater, it is my royal duty to examine my thoughts and plot them on paper where as the mighty squaw woulds't fetch the preparations for dinner."
Okay so he's not the best at rhyming but he makes me laugh! And now just re-reading it-the poem was funnier earlier this afternoon. Reading on, he actually did make a list of dinners-half of them being baked potatoes! Shocker.

A Glimpse Into My Future...

Before I begin, I posted a lot of pictures so I apologize in advance at those reading this.
Wednesday was a sad day to say the very least. This was the day that we took Alex to the MTC! The journey actually started Tuesday night at 6:15 p.m. when he got set apart as an Elder. After that, the whole family drove down to Salt Lake City and stayed the night with my Grandma Dal.
Alex had to be at the MTC at 1:00 that afternoon. We left SLC around 11 so we could take some family pictures before he actually left.....Since all of us couldn't go to the training center and say our goodbyes there (sorry, but I think that is the stupidest rule ever!) we walked up the pathway to the Provo Temple and took pictures there.....

He looks so grown up!

One last family picture

I was doing fine until I saw this....

Then I lost it! Obviously!
(Just looking at this picture makes me tear up)
I remember taking Robert to the MTC but I don't remember it being this hard!! Probably because Alex is the baby of the family and also because I think he and I had a special bond-before I was married and Robert was on his mission, it was just me and Alex at home! Somedays (and nights) we would just hang out together and play Guitar Hero or something! Man, I'm gonna miss him!

Nick and Alex

It's hard to imagine that these two little babies will be 2 when he comes home!

And he's off!! We love you Elder Hill and we'll miss you so much! Before I know it, I'll be sending Garrett off on his mission!
After we said our goodbyes and dropped him off, the rest of us went and had some lunch, then headed back home. It was a sad, long drive back home but we're all glad Alex chose this decision and I know all of us are counting down the days til we can talk to him on Christmas!!

Amazing Creations

Last night, John and I went out with John's cousin Trevor and his wife, Adria, to the Temple's Visitors Center to see the new Hubble Space Exibit. It was so cool! I just looked at all the pictures in amazment at what Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ can create! It's kind of hard to explain in words of wonderment. I suggest to those in driving distance to take the time and go see this with your families! You won't regret it! It's Awesome!!

I don't remember all of the galaxies
names but I do remember that this
one is called the "Cat Eye".

I thought this one was really pretty!

Look how beautiful the heavens are!! Just imagine!!

McAffee Family Reunion

July 31st was our annual McAffee Family Reunion. This year my mom was in charge of getting everything together and she decided that we would all go to the Mackay Reservoir and go boating for the day. John, my brothers, and my dad went up the day before to do some fishing and get some extra boating time in before the rest of the family showed up the next day. They had a lot of fun!!
Saturday, July 31st: Let the boating begin!! NOT!! The weather was HORRIBLE!!! It was soooo windy!! It was blowing the camp chairs over and a few of us lost our plates full of food because of the annoying wind! After about an hour of wind some of us packed up and left to go back to grandma and grandpa's house but the rest of us decided to conquer the windstorm and go do some boating/tubing anyway....I didn't do a very good job of taking pictures of the reunion. Mainly because I was either taking care of Garrett, eating :), or just trying to make my hair stay out of my face!!!

My mom, U. Gene, A. Lanell, Gma and Gpa BBQing our lunch
Some of my cousins
Grandma and Grandpa trying to relax in the wind!
Another snapshot of some more family...
This is where we were for most of the day....
And this is where Garrett was most of the day..

I felt really bad! After we had got home late that night, I noticed that Garrett's face was beat red! He got sunburned! :( Poor little guy! I didn't even think about putting sunscreen on or even a hat! Didn't even think to bring a jacket for him either!! Such a good mom, I know....
Like always, we all had a lot of fun together! Can't wait til we get together next year! :)
