Dr. Checkup #3

Today I had my 3rd checkup with Dr. Hall. It was a pretty quick one, too. This one was a much better experience than the last one. The nurse called me back, took my blood pressure and weight, she measured my stomach and checked for the baby's heartbeat. Not to worry-I heard the heartbeat right away and according to the nurse, the heartbeat is normal. More good news-when the nurse weighed me she said that I haven't gained any weight! WAHOO!!! I might as well enjoy it while I can cuz in I know in the next couple of months I'm going to balloon out and become this waddling blimp!
After all that, Dr. Hall comes in to make sure things are ok and let's me know that I am 15 weeks and 6 days....huh?? All this time I've been about a week and a half off! I thought that I was in the middle of my fourth month when in reality I'm only at the beginning! NO!! I was so disappointed. Oh well, what's another week? My due date is still March 12th. I have another appointment in about 4 weeks and we'll be able to find out whether we're having a boy or girl! I can't wait!! I'm getting so excited! And I can't believe that on my next appointment-I'll be halfway done with my pregnancy!
Unfortunatley, morning sickness still comes and goes. Shouldn't I be getting over it by now? I really hope that I'm not going to be sick for the rest of the 5 months I have left. Also, this whole having to get up in the middle of the night to go pee thing...getting annoying! I'm not sleeping very good as it is and when I do finally get to sleep I have this sudden urge to go to the bathroom!! I guess it's a small price to pay.
Cravings:
*Fruit is still number one-nectarines, watermelon, pears, peaches, strawberries.....
*Cornbread
*Pastas-Spaghetti, breads, pizza....
*Sweets-SourPatch Kids, Jolley Ranchers, Smarties, LemonHeads (basically anything tart)

Spud Day 2009

September 19th was annual Spud Day. This year John and I were in the parade, Alex was in the parade and Shanley Searle (John's neice) was in the parade too. John drove a Sprayer from his work while I tossed out candy. It was really fun! We both had a good time laughing at the kids in aw over this huge machine we were in! Spud Day was a really hot day. It's a good thing my parents live a block away-we were back and forth from the park the whole day. We went over to get some lunch, ate it at my parents house, played Mario Kart, and then headed back over for some more food (well, mostly for the funnel cakes)!

This was Alex's float they decorated for "Natural Helpers"

This was Shanley's float they decorated for "Student Government"

Alex taking pride in the float. I guess they won 1st place in the decorating contest. Cool!

All the Natural Helpers...boy, that brought back memories....

John and I in front of the Sprayer just before the parade was starting

These people work with John. They drove this four wheeler and tossed candy

I think this is Mandy and her 2 boys

I tried taking some pictures from inside the Sprayer but it was too bumpy and I couldn't get good enough shots so after one picture I bagged that idea and finished tossing out candy

This picture is of Alex and Chelsie dressed up as nerds. There was a dance that night and this is how they decided to show up! They had it all-tape on the glasses, suspenders, and Alex's hair was parted down the side slicked back! I just thought this picture was funny!

We all had a fun time at Spud Day! I'm glad the city does it every year-but it does make for a long day!

Birthday Celebrations!

September is full of birthdays! Linda's (John's mom) birthday was the 15th, Ashley's was the 12th, and Robert's was the 16th! We went over to my parents house to celebrate Ashley and Robert's birthdays together. They each had their own cake, too! Ashley made a lemon cake with homemade frosting (very yummy) and Robert is a cheesecake fanatic so he got three kinds of cheesecake samples from The Cheesecake Factory (also very yummy...and rich!) Here are just some pictures of the celebrations!

"Happy Birthday to you!...."

Sorry this picture is kinda blurry-I took it right as they were blowing out candles

Mom lighting the candles

LET'S CUT THE CAKES ALREADY!!!
Happy Birthday you two! Hope you both enjoyed your day!! We love you!

Billings and Polson Montana

A couple of weeks ago, John was assigned by his boss to go to Billings Montana and take some training for John's new job that he'll start the beginning of October. He will be one of the Managers in the Lawn/Garden Department at the job he's currently at. He was working selling tractor parts for John Deere.
So we left for Billings on Wednesday afternoon around 3:00. We drove through Island and West Yellowstone Park. I've always thought that was a pretty drive but for some reason this drive took forever! Billings is about 5 hours from Idaho Falls. I know that seems like nothing compared to others who have driven from Florida! ;)
We got to Billings around 9:00 that night, checked into our hotel and crashed on the hardest bed I've ever laid on!! As hard as it was-it was one of the best night's sleep I've had for awhile. John's training was all day Thursday and half day Friday. So guess what I did?? Stayed in the hotel flipping through channels going stir crazy! I was left without a vehicle and I could only walk up and down the hallway of the hotel so many times before it came annoying. Luckily, we were staying right across the parking lot from a "Cracker Barrell" Restraunt so I spent about an hour or so over there just browsing trying to decide if I really needed anything.
After John's training on Thursday, we went to Fuddrucker's and had some dinner. It was pretty good! We've both never have eaten there before. After dinner we headed over to the Mall. The mall is smaller than the one here in Idaho Falls so we didn't spend too much time there.
Back at the hotel we went for a little swim. And when I say little I mean we went for like 20 min tops! We were both really exhausted for some reason. Friday morning I was left without a car again so I just layed in bed, watched tv, and got ready while John was finishing up his training. We checked out of our hotel and headed for Polson, Montana to visit John's sister and her family. Another 7 hour drive ahead of us.....

We got to Polson Friday night about 8:00 and just kinda relaxed the rest of the night. Saturday, Adam and Tyana took us to this island that sits on a lake. It was gorgeous. Sailboats were everywhere! We found a little spot where we could swim. The water wasn't too bad.
This picture is John and Adam contemplating whether or not they are going to jump of the rocks into the water.....

...Sure enough! Here goes Adam!

This is Michael and Katie (Adam and Tyana's kids) They just barely had another baby about 6 weeks ago which was one of the reasons why we went and visited them. She is darling and it made me want mine here even more!

...Here goes John!

Then Michael had to take a turn being one of the big boys and jump off, too!

The 3 boys playing in the water

Adam, Michael, and Katie

I was the official picture taker for the trip. There was absolutly no way I was going to get into the water!!

So John had just got out of the cold water and got me soaken wet....not to mention freezing as well.

No that's not a beached whale sitting next to John-it's me! This day in particular I was feeling extremely HUGE and extremely FAT!!! One of the not so good perks of being pregnant.

Just a shot of the boat we took a ride in

This is baby Karley. 6 weeks old. Sunday morning John and I offered to watch Karley while the rest of them went to Church. I was like "Uh....what do I do?!" Luckily, she slept most of the time...and in John's arms! So adorable!!

I think we both caught a little glimpse of what the future holds for us!

Sorry, I don't know how to rotate pictures on this thing! But you get the gist of it....

Ok so the reason why my facial expression looks nervous is because everytime I would hold her, I felt like I was going to break her! She is so tiny! It makes me wonder how well I'll adjust to my own baby....

I just wanted to take her home with us! March seems so far away! I just want to hold my own baby and I'm getting so anxious to see what it looks like!

Sunday afternoon we headed back home. Again, another long drive ahead of us. We got home around 10:00 that night and we both were not ready to start another long week of work! We love it when we have the chance to get away from everything. Our trip was fun and I think our favorite part of the whole thing was playing "parents" for 3 hours! :)

Labor Day Weekend/Buffalo River

This year for Labor Day we went camping up to Island Park with John's family and floated the Buffalo River. John and I left for Island Park Saturday afternoon and stayed until the following Monday morning.
Everyone else had gotten there the day before and set up most of camp. John's family (more like his dad) is "The Camping Guru." He's got everything from dutch oven cookware to the recipes he cooks in them. He's also a "Campfire Natzi" but that's a whole other post....So after John and I set up our tent, we all go and float the Buffalo River. The river only gets about knee deep but it's a lot of fun.
Amazingly, the only night it rained was the Sunday night (the last night we were there). Other than that, it was sunny and hot and the river was a nice place just to cool off.

Here's our campsite

Tyree (John's sister) and Jordyn

John and I were in charge of
Saturday's breakfast. We made
French Toast, hashbrowns, and
scrambled eggs.

This is inside of our tent. We
invested in a HUGE mattress
that doesn't even fit inside! It
makes for a tight squeeze!

And here's our tent....We got
this as a wedding present from
John's family

Saturday, we all went out to the lake for a little boat ride and some relaxation. This is Adam (Tyree's husband) and their little girl Hayden.

Addison, Kendyl, and Jordyn

for some wake-boarding

Tyree and Bruce (John's dad)
getting ready to fix us some
yummy dinner....

...which was dutch oven potatoes
and chicken

Everyone eating dinner and
hanging around the campfire
It was a fun weekend but honestly I can only handle the "camping lifestyle" for so long. About Sunday night, I was ready to come home and sleep in my own bed and to take a shower. Thanks everyone for a fun weekend! Next year John and I are in charge of the reunion...any ideas????

Pregnancy=Not so much fun

Well, I knew it was too good to be true. My morning sickness has been getting worse just within the last couple of weeks! Last Saturday morning was the first time I threw up...more like dry-heaving...(sorry if this post grosses anyone out.) I just thought that maybe I had eaten way too much the night before but I was wrong!
Wednesday morning was not a fun one. I woke up around 5 am having to pee really bad-no surprise there-I do that every morning anyways! I go back to bed hoping to get in a few more minutes of sleep before I have to get up and get ready for work. About 2 seconds later, I'm running to the bathroom and....you can probably guess what I did. Feeling a little better I finish getting ready for work, get done eating breakfast and....run back to the bathroom! What the heck! I hate the feeling of knowing I have to throw up and then actually doing it! I never really got sick as a kid or throughout my teen years so this throwing up is kinda a new experience for me! So, hopefully morning sickness goes away soon!
I hope it's ok to share this next part--Ashley, Nick and Hallie came over to visit Tuesday night. Ashley then announces that she is also pregnant!!! And she is due 2 weeks after I am! HOW FUN!!! Our babies are going to be a couple of weeks apart! I'm so excited for them! And I'm also glad that I can share my pregnancy with my sister! Who better? It'll be fun to see the differences and go through the change together! Congrats Ash!!
Funny Story: Monday night John and I were watching t.v. when all of a sudden I get a major craving for Sour Patch Kids! So, being the great husband that he is, John puts on a sweatshirt and shorts and heads into Broulims to go get me some. Remember, this was at about 9:30 p.m. He comes back with this HUGE 3 pound bad of candy!! Why he didn't just get me a regular size pack they usually come in, is beyond me! He just looked at me like "Don't worry, you'll eat 'em all." What's that supposed to mean?? Anyways-we got a good laugh about it and he was right-the bag is half gone!
