Star Struck!

Wahoo! We went to the Josh Turner Concert! It was so much fun! He is one of my absolute favorite country singers, and when I knew he'd be in town, of course I just had to go!! John wasn't sure if he'd be able to go, but at the last minute, he came with me! I would have gone by myself, no doubt, but I'm glad John was there to enjoy it with me!
Enjoy the eye-candy...I sure did!!! :)

John and I just minutes before it started:

Oh my! Isn't he just so handsome?!

I could honestly listen to his deep, low voice serenading me for hours! ;)

All through the concert, we kept inching our way up closer!

Afterward, John and I stuck around for a few minutes in the hopes that we (I mean"I") could get a picture with him. With much disappointment, I didn't get one (what are the chances, really?), but this is one concert that I will never forget! :) We had such a great time! Josh Turner puts on quite a show!

Garrett At 17 Months

At 17 months Garrett:
  • has learned a new word and he says it all the time! "Tractor"
  • weighs 22-23 lbs.
  • does a sumo-walk
  • shows us his muscles
  • can drive a tractor with Dad and Grandpa Spaulding
  • is getting blond patches in his hair! And, yes, I'm sad that his red hair is changing! I've grown quite fond of it!
  • likes "Marshmellow Maties" cereal to munch on (any kind of cereal will do, really!)
  • will be going to Nursery next month!

We just love the little personality that he is developing and are so blessed to have him in our lives! Love you, Little Man!

Heise Hot Springs

Minus a hotel pool, we've taken Garrett swimming once this entire summer! So, the 3 of us, plus Richard, Tiffany and Brylie went to Heise Hot Springs for a couple of hours. Garrett had so much fun! He loved being in the big pool, but sitting in the hot, relaxing jacuzzi was his favorite! Hmm..could he possibly be taking after me? After all, that's where you'll always find me when we're by a pool!

Richard and Brylie, John and Garrett

These two have a ball playing with each other!

We had a lot of fun! :)

International Harvestor

John got a new job! :) He will be managing a farm in Rexburg! Today was his last day at John Deere where's he's been for 3 years. His job was ok, but he wasn't being treated very well over there, plus they were cutting his pay like every couple of months so he's been wanting a new job for awhile. He went and looked at this farm a few days ago and got really excited about it! Friday John called and told the owner of the farm that he'd take the job! He's so excited to be farming again-since farming has been a part of his life for 26 years!
I am also very excited that he finally has a job that he loves to do, but to be completely honest, I'm not all that thrilled about the "Farming Hours." While we were dating, I was totally shoved into the farm life and I wasn't fond of it. Free time was during the winter (which I hate the winter anyway!), and being together meant long nights riding on a big green tractor...ok, ok, that part was fun....and it also meant being home 3-4 hours later than what was actually planned-that was a hard one to get used to!
He farmed a little bit when we were first married and all of the above mentioned was complicated to deal with. So, what I'm trying to get at is this: I'll (+Garrett) be shoved right back into the farm life style again and basically raising Garrett on my own from here on out. (P.s. He will be our only child)! He's hard work! By 4 pm I. Am. Pooped!!
I am really going to try and have a positive attitude towards all the changes that come with farming. Good luck John at your new job! Actually it's more like "Good luck Taunya at John's new job!" Ha! ha! :)

Houdini

While we have been living at Bruce and Linda's, Garrett has figured out how to open doors. Doors to bathrooms, pantries, and his favorite ones to open are the doors that lead outside! There are 3! I was putting dishes in the dishwasher one day and I heard a door open. I called out to see who was there and I got no answer. So, I called for Garrett's name and sure enough, he was outside on the deck pointing to the tractor and wanting a ride! That little sneak! :)
Now, we've locked all the doors and I have one unhappy escape artist on my hands!

House Sitters

We have officially moved to Rigby! Kinda. Here's what's going on-We packed up all of our stuff Friday and Saturday. We went to our new ward on Sunday. It's a very small ward, which surprised me. John's sister, Tawnya, is back from Kansas visiting for 2 weeks along with some of her friends that live in Germany. They are all staying at her house, of course. So, John and I thought it would be better for us pack our bags once again and stay with his parents, who already have 3 other people living with them, for the 2 weeks Tawnya and her friends are here....
It's fine. Really. It would just be nice to get settled in, get unpacked, and officially move. I feel like I'm being shuffled around. But, honestly it'll be better that we are here so it will take more stress off of Tawnya.

So, once we finally move in I plan on posting some pictures of the house we are living in for 2 years!
P.S. I've also updated my blog! It feels like so many things have happened over the last week and a half!

Are We There Yet?

About a week ago, John had to go to Oregon for work. It was only for 1 day, so Garrett and I tagged along with him! The trip actually couldn't have come at a worse week due to the fact that we were supposed to be all packed up and out of our house that same weekend!
Garrett did really well for being stuck in a car for 6 hours. We stayed in Baker City, OR at the Best Western Hotel, grabbed a bite to eat and then went swimming. The outside pool was a little chilly, so we went to the hot tub area. Garrett loved it! He was so relaxed and didn't want to get out. I don't blame him-I was just as relaxed as he was!
After breakfast, John visited some customers and by 2:00 p.m. we were headed home again. We had to stop a couple of times for Garrett. We stopped in Burley for some dinner at Burger's Ect. and 2 hours later, we were home and exhausted and ready to sleep in our own beds.
It was a fun little getaway. The drive was really pretty, too!

It's Nerf or Nothin!

John's 26th birthday was on July 23rd. We were at a family reunion with my side of the family that weekend so we celebrated it with them and then on the following Sunday, we had cake and ice cream with his family.
I got him a few things: A Nerf Dart Gun, A Super Soaker, and the movie "Just Go With It". John requests that he gets an DQ Oreo Ice Cream Cake every year! Those are his favorite.
Happy Birthday, John!
