Happy Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving!! We had such a fun weekend that was spent with family!! We had Thanksgiving dinner at my mom and dad's this year along with Nick and Ashley and their 2 girls, my Grandpa and U. Flint, and U. Gene and A. Cindy and their 2 girls. Some others were supposed to come from Boise but ended up not making it due to the roads.
We all sat down to dinner around 2 and over-stuffed ourselves (I did anyway!), cleared everything up and got out the pies! 10 to be exact! :)

I was debating whether or not to do Black Friday. So glad I didn't!! :) We loaded up Garrett and headed up to Rigby to John's parent's house instead where John and his brother, Richard, designed and built a sleigh! Sadly, I didn't get any pictures but I was impressed! It looks way cool! They ended up spending about 3 days on it! I can't wait until it's done so we can all go caroling in it this year!
We had a nice Thanksgiving weekend and we hope yours was fun as well! :)

Garrett At 8 Months

I keep forgetting to post this. On November 14th, Garrett turned 8 months! It's so crazy to me! Here are just some things that he is doing at 8 months: Sorry, it's a long list....

• Has been able to sit up by himself for about 3 weeks
• Is starting to crawl! He can get up on his hands and knees, rock back and forth, push off, and then face-plant. I think any day he will just take off!! :) Time to baby-proof, I guess...
• Starting to wave bye-bye
• Gives kisses (so sweet)
  
• Rolls around all time
• No teeth yet, but he sure is fussy enough to have them!!!
• I'm not sure what he weighs, but my guess is around 25lbs! Big surprise....
• LOVES grownup food! I try and give him baby food, but he usually spits it out at my face
• LOVES, LOVES, LOVES to be outside!!! Even if it is -10 degrees! It's going to be a long winter!
• Grabs at everything! My hair, my nose, my lips, earrings...you name it!
  
• He has started doing a "cheesy grin"! He does it randomly and I never have the camera near by to take a picture, but it is SOOO funny!
  
• Still on the bottle and will drink about 7-8oz every 4 hours or sometimes longer
  
• Sleeping habits have done a complete 180! And not for the better!! There's been a couple of days where he all of a sudden decides to take just 1 nap a day when he should be taking like 4!!! And, you would think that he sleeps wonderfully through the night, but you'd be wrong! He will fall asleep around 10:00pm, but not before screaming and fighting me for 45min!!
• Will sleep in his crib for about an hour before he wakes up and sleeps the rest of the night in our bed! HELP ME!! What do I do? I cannot have him sleep in our bed anymore! And I'm sure John can't sleep on the couch anymore! I'm out of ideas. I feel like I have tried everything so if any of you have any special tricks-please share!

I think that's everything! Sorry the list is so long! He's just getting way too big, way too fast! I'm excited to see how he'll react at Christmas time with all the lights and decorations! :)

Don't Waste Your Money

Last night, John and I went and saw "Wall Street-Money Never Sleeps" at the cheap theater. We have had tickets there since February and they expired Nov. 24th, so we thought we better hurry and use them! Let me just say that I'm glad we went to the cheap theater. That movie is soooo boring!! It started at 9:30pm and by 11:00pm, John and I walked out. We couldn't sit through another 30min of it just to catch what happens in the end! Plus, we dropped Garrett off at my parents' and I'm pretty sure they were wiped out! :)
It was a nice date but I wish we would have seen something different...

Adult Conversation

Awhile back I had planned a girls night with some of my friends. All were on bored until the night actually came~only one showed up!!! :) In the others defense-one forgot, and the other was dealing with a toddler with an ear infection.
So, Jen and I just sat (well, she sat-I wrestled around with Garrett) for about an hour talking . It was nice to have a one-on-one! She gave me some good advice on how to be a better mom and wife (which I needed) and we also had some good laughs! Thanks Jen for coming! Hopefully you weren't too bored out of your mind and hopefully we can ALL get together soon! :)

Family Photos 2010

About a week ago, my sister took our family pictures! I just wanted to post a few...We took some at the falls by the Temple and also by the railroad tracks downtown in Idaho Falls.

Ok, I know a LOT of people think that Garrett is a spit'n image of John but looking at these pictures I can totally see myself!! :)

For those who are looking at my blog-I hope I'm not sounding or being boastful by posting a lot of pictures! I just thought they turned out really good! Thanks Ashley for doing them! I can't wait to print some off and send them out for the holidays! :)

John's Florida Trip, My Weekend Getaway

I'm a little behind on posting this but back in October, John went on a business trip to Florida! He was gone from Oct. 13-Oct.17th! He had a lot of fun but obviously missed me and Garrett. He took some really pretty pictures of his hotel and the sunsets and just some stuff that he did when he had some free time.

He went with one of his co-workers and his wife and they rented a convertible for the week! Lucky Ducks!!

While he was gone Garrett and I just kinda kicked it at home. It was a long 4 days taking care of Garrett by myself (especially at night). We went over to my parents a few times and just kept myself busy to pass the time away! We were glad when Sunday came around and John was finally home!!

MY WEEKEND GETAWAY WITH THE GIRLS
This last weekend I got together with my mom, sister, aunts and cousin for a weekend getaway! We always have a fun time together! We share a LOT of laughs and this time we even shared a few tears. We also had a few surprises....
A few of us were under the impression that there were only going to be just a few of us going down to Utah. My mom, sister, A. Lanell, and I got there around 5pm and just talking about how we wanted everyone here and a few hours later, my A. Janice (from California) walked through the door!! She had made what was supposed to be a 12 hour trip into about a 9 hour trip!! :) She flew here!!!! A little bit later, we all sat down to do a craft when my other aunt, A. Shirlene (from Boise) popped in, too!!! SURPRISE, SURPRISE!!!
Anyway, we finished our craft and then we moved over to more comfortable seats and started in on conversations....that lasted til 6am!!!! I surprised myself and stayed up til 6am, too! For those who don't know me (and those that do) I am SOO not a night owl! 10:00pm rolls around and I am wanting to lay my head on pillow and zonk out. This was a stretch for me. I really badly wanted to go to bed but I also didn't want to miss out on the conversations.

We all got up around 10am Saturday morning just dragging our feet! Well, I was anyway. We had planned to go down to Gardner's Mill for lunch and do a little bit of shopping. My mom, sister and I had debated whether or not to drive home late Saturday night or just stay one more night and drive home early Sunday morning...we decided to stay!! Sorry babies and husbands!! :) I had a lot of fun over the weekend but I really missed John and Garrett! That was the first time I had left him overnight. John said he did fine-worried for nothing, I guess! :)

Splish! Splash!

I keep forgetting to post these.....Garrett LOVES his bath time! He has since the day he was born (except for that first initial bath). Just to warn you-I do bath with him! Here's my reasons: #1: It's easier to hang on to his slippery little body and #2: It's easier to hang on to his slippery little body!! So, some of you may think that it's weird or gross but it's not like he's 15 and I'm STILL bathing with him!! :) And also just so you know I tried to crop out most of me in the pictures but you still get a little leg action! Sorry!! :)

He's just barely starting to splash around! It's so funny!

...and he has this weird fetish with my shaving cream lid!! :) I will put him in the tub and he will search and search for the lid until I give it to him!

By the last stop, Garrett had had it in his skunk costume! We had fun driving him around and showing him off to everyone! And every place we went we snuck in a few pieces of candy for ourselves!
P.S. My family thinks that Garrett looks like one of the "Lost Boys" from "Peter Pan"! :)
