It Never Fails...

...Every time I change one of Garrett's wet, soaked diapers!! After wrestling with his legs and trying to get everything....uh, tucked in....and doing up snaps on his onesie, I get a look of deep concentration follwed by a grunt. Yep, he's getting ready to poop!! Are you kidding me? I just wasted a diaper!? Why couldn't he do it in the diaper he was just in?? Those things aren't cheap, little man! :) The joys of Motherhood, I guess. I'm just glad he hasn't pooped in the bathtub yet (knock on wood).

Blue Angels Air Show

For John's birthday, I bought him two tickets to the Blue Angels Air Show. John and his brother went and had a lot of fun! John also got some awesome pictures, too! I would have gone with him but I don't think Garrett would have lasted very long in the heat, and honestly, I don't think I would have lasted very long! I'm just glad that John enjoyed his birthday present. He came home and informed me that he's thinking about joining the AirForce...HUH?!?!

Here are just a few videos John got of the show....

John had a great time and has the sunburn to prove it! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! :)

John's Birthday

On July 23rd we celebrated John's 25th birhtday! John and I dropped Garrett off at my mom's house for a few hours while the two of us went birthday shopping. He wanted to get some wires for his sub-woffer? (I know that's not how you spell that!) for his pickup stereo, I think? So, that's what I ended up getting him. Later that night, we had family over for some ice cream cake from DQ (a request from the birthday boy), a chocolate cake and cupcakes that I had also made.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

I also got John tickets for the Blue Angels air show!

Yummy Ice Cream Cake from DQ!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN! I hope you had a wonderful day! We love you!

4 Month Checkup and Shots

I took Garrett in for his 4 month checkup and shots this morning. I can't believe he's 4 months already! He's getting too big, too fast! He did really well up until the 3 humungous shots they gave him. This is where his big thunder thighs come in handy! I'm so glad I have a chunky baby. He only screamed for about 5 minutes and then was just fine. On the way home is another story.....
Garrett's Stats at 4 months:
Height: 25 inches 50%
Weight: 17 lbs. 85%
Head: 16.5 inches Normal Range
The doctor said that I could start giving him rice cereal if I wanted to and also within the next month start him on some vegetables. Overall, he said that Garrett is growing and doing fine and he also gave me some tips on what to do to get Garrett to sleep through the night. I'll definately try the techniques but we'll see how effective they are.
Garrett is almost rolling over. He can get his upper body going but I have to help him the rest of the way. Slowly but surely....
He is also holding his head up very well. When I put him on his tummy he can lift up his entire upper body with his arms. I don't know if all babies can do that at 4 months but I'm impressed! I'm so glad he's growing normally and healthy. He won't go back for another checkup until he's 6 months but it'll come all too soon....
(Cherice-Sorry we missed you! Maybe next time! )

Ten Toes To Tickle

Today my mom and I took Garrett to do some reflexology (aka "Foot Zoning"). The reason being is because he hasn't been sleeping very good and he has had tummy troubles ever since he's been born. Just a lot of gas and I feel like I've switched his formula a thousand times trying to figure out which one will be easiest for him to digest. Fyi: Formula Found!
Anyway-we get there and she's zoning his feet--which are very ticklish btw!! It was funny just watching him squirm--and she proceeds to tell me that some of his major organs like his intestines and some of his spinal nerves/chords? weren't functioning properly, if at all!! And that's why his tummy has been hurting him. By zoning him, she got everything stimulated and working like they should have been in the first place.
(P.S. This is not Garrett!)
Another reason why we took him is because when I was in labor, he was wedged and pushing on my cervix trying to get out (the reason for the C-section) which put a lot of strain and pressure on his poor little neck; which means that his back has been out for 4 months! She adjusted his back and neck and I'm hoping that will help him sleep better.
I'm pretty open minded when it comes to alternative medicines or whatever but she told me to look for "out of the norm" things Garrett does and within the next two weeks if there hasn't been any changes (in his bowel movements mostly) then I'll take him back and she'll zone him again. All I want is for my baby to be healthy, happy, and develop like a normal baby should. I hope this works!

Something Besides Formula? GIMME!!

Garrett tried a popscicle for the first time! I'm not sure if he really likes them yet...

....But I LOVE his facial expressions! So, I'll keep giving him little licks just to keep myself entertained!

Not Sure What To Think??

Last night I got together with some of my girlfriends and we went and saw "Eclipse". My honest opinion? I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it like I thought I would. I think the more times I see it the more I will like it. But, I can wait til it comes out on DVD to see it again.

The things I did like about the movie was how it told Rosalee and Jasper's stories of how they became vampires and also I thought that this movie portrayed the book a little better than the last two, and of course, I always love the way that Edward and Jacob say the sweetest and cutest things to Bella-both in the movie and the books! :)
Thanks girls for a fun night! Can't wait to get together with you all again soon! I always have a great time!

The Grill Master! My dad cookin up some yummy burgers!

Our festive wear for the day!

My mom and dad went out and bought a little kiddy pool for Hallie to play in....

...And I guess they bought it for John to play in, too!
Just a kid at heart!

Grandpa and Garrett-He was making Garrett laugh all day! :)
These little babies are so cute! And they just layed out on a blanket enjoying the outside sunshine!

These two are only 1 week apart...Garrett is such a monster compared to Cooper!
Oh Ya! Doin' the Slip N' Slide!

After the BBQ, we all went into Idaho Falls to watch the Fireworks! Garrett did so good. He slept through the whole thing! :)
Thanks mom and dad for a fun day! The food was good and the company was better!! :) We hope all of you had as much fun as we did!
