It dawned on me last night that Jan. 14th was Garrett's 22 month mark! Wow! He's growing up so fast and I don't want to accept the fact that he will be turning 2 in March! I was having lunch with my mom and Ashley and a few of our aunts yesterday, and we got into a conversation about the babies. My mom mentioned that when she and my dad were watching Garrett one day, they were talking about how Garrett doesn't look like John or myself anymore-he's just Garrett. I was in shock and awe at that comment, but not in a bad way. I pondered that comment all the way through lunch and the drive home thinking, "he's still a pretty good mix."
That night I was really watching and looking at Garrett and realized what my mom had said was true!!!! He still has the cheeks, but not the chub cheeks he had when he was a baby. His "little baby" features are rapidly turning into "little boy" features! (Gasp!) I'm sad!! :( Why haven't I taken notice in this??

Here are some things Garrett is doing at 22 months:
- As soon as these last two bottom teeth come through, he will finally have all of his teeth!
- Sings "All About John Deere" and says "John Deere"
- Sad to say that his eating habits haven't changed. He still prefers his oatmeal in the morning and ramen noodles for lunch and dinner. We can squeeze chicken nuggets in there sometimes, but it's rare. (I hope this is just a phase)
- He is starting to become interested in basketball! He has a suction cup hoop thing that I stick to the wall and he will throw balls in there all day! He still loves his tractors, but I'm glad he's exploring more options! :)
- He thinks every ball is a basketball and will try to say "basketball" but it comes out "ba-ba-ba-ba-ball"! One to many syllables in there, son! :)
- He has picked up a little bit of sign language from his cousin. He knows the signs for "more" and "shoe". I'm pretty impressed since John and I weren't the ones who taught him
- He's been to Nursery twice and absolutely......HATES IT!!! I don't know if it's new surroundings and new faces he doesn't like, but John and/or I have to be in there with him the whole 2 hours! Otherwise, he will just cry and cry and cry and it tears my heart-strings! I tell myself to be patient and give it time......I'm really praying that the transition from Nursery to Sunbeams will be easier!

awww I miss that boy! =(
I loved our lunch together. The babies do grow up so fast don't they. I remember thinking that about all my kids - how all their baby features were turning into little kid features. But, guess what, they just get cuter and cuter. You won't believe what's ahead for you! Tons of fun stuff.
Ah how they grow up so fast! I'm guessing his habits for eating is just a phase! He'll be just fine! He'll probably hate oatmeal as he gets older! Hayley won't eat anything! She is just so picky! I've never had a baby this picky before and I just don't know what do do with her! I think nursery is so hard! Braden wouldn't go by himself until he was pretty much 3 and then it was time to move on! But he LOVES primary! He had a great teacher for sunbeams and that helped a ton! Good luck! We spent a good chunk of time in nursery too! I'm jealous of those parents whose kids never make a fuss about going, but oh well! We all survive and so do they!
